Refraction
A good refraction can really change your quality of life. Getting a driver’s license, keeping your independence, getting that career job you have been striving for, can literally be one refraction away. At Arnand Comprehensive Eye Care we provide a non-rushed, detailed refraction based on the patients’ needs to ensure that you are seeing the absolute best that you can. Sure, contacts and stunning frames are nice… but seeing your best while impressing your spectators is twice as sweet.
Comprehensive Eye Exams
Contrary to assumption, we do not see with our eyes, we see the world with our brain (visual cortex). The eye not only is like a camera, but it is made up of a complex collection of living and breathing tissues. For these reasons, an annual comprehensive eye exam is in order. This type of exam can help us to diagnose several refractive errors including: Near-sightedness, Far-sightedness, Astigmatism, Amblyopia, and a myriad of other disorders. We provide a detailed refraction, examination of your neurological /visual connections, and a proper microscope assisted observation of your ocular segments from front to back, ensuring that we examine the eye in full. It is not simply, “is it better 1 or 2?” with us. The holistic approach to eye health is what is most important.
Diabetic Eye Care
Diabetes is the leading cause of preventable blindness in working-age adults (ages 20-74) living in the United States. Diabetes is a disease that affects the small blood vessels of the body. Those same vessels can be found in the eye; which makes a Comprehensive Eye Exam so important; but especially for Diabetic patients. The eye is the only location in the body where a Doctor can observe both the health of the eye and view the patient’s systemic health without being invasive. Complications with unmanaged diabetes can lead to other serious eye related disorders including, but not limited to: Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular edema and degenerative changes.
We will perform a thorough diabetic eye exam in which we will assess all structures of the eye for any subtle signs of Diabetic Retinopathy. Additionally, we work and communicate with the patient, the patients Primary Care Provider /Endocrinologist to ensure that diabetes is being well-managed, and that diabetes is NOT managing the patient.
Glaucoma Eye Care Management
Glaucoma is a painless, progressive disease that causes irreversible vision loss, due to ischemia or lack of oxygen to the Optic Nerve. The optic nerve carries the signal of light from your eyes to your brain; so that you can see (much like a cord carries information from your computer tower to your screen when at work or watching a movie). While there are various forms and modes of acquiring glaucoma, if left unmanaged the outcomes are the same: progressive vision loss and eventual blindness. Therefore, annual comprehensive exams for early detection of subtle signs and symptoms is the key to preserving vision long-term in the case of glaucoma. Our glaucoma management will ensure that you are well educated and accurately cared for, so that your quality of vision is well preserved.
Pre & Post Cataract Surgical Eye Care
Cataracts are the gift that keeps on giving. The truth is everyone alive will form a cataract if they are blessed to live long enough. Cataracts are the natural progression of the Crystallin lens within our eyes becoming less elastic and more resistant to changes as light enters the eye, especially when we are attempting to view objects up-close. Additionally, as cataracts progress a hazy, cloudy, view of the world can become evident. When our cataracts become so dense that prescription glasses are not improving our vision it is time for a Cataract evaluation. Cataract surgeries are quick outpatient procedures, and, general speaking, patients will only need a minimal prescription, reading glasses, or no glasses at all after surgery. At Arnand Comprehensive Eye Care, we make sure that you are referred into the hands of trusted and capable surgeons and we will conduct all your Pre-Op and Post-Op care to ensure the best outcomes for the sharpest vision..
Dry Eye Treatment & Management
Dry Eye Disorder/Disease (DED) is a fairly common condition caused by multiple factors ranging from poor tear production to more complex issues with the Lacrimal Gland (tear gland). Our assessment will be thorough, and we will provide treatment options that are specific to your needs and stage of Dry Eye.
Low-Vision Exams and Consults
Low Vision is when a person has vision measured as 20/70 or worse in their “Better Seeing” or “Good Eye”. There are several reasons why one suffers with Low Vision, including but not limited to Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Genetic Ocular Disorders, or Ocular trauma. Whatever the reason, receiving care and examinations are paramount in keeping the quality of your vision consistent. We will spend adequate time to educate and review best options for your optimal visual outcomes.
